With MyWorkDrive, users can view and edit files in our beautiful web file manager file explorer style interface, greatly reducing training and support costs. With MyWorkDrive users can edit documents in place without downloading, create bookmark favorites, search, sort, zip and preview images. MyWorkDrive also provides and option to view any file type online and enable date leak prevention to allow viewing while limiting downloads. With Acronis Files Advanced alternative the Web interface is very basic with only the ability to upload and download files.
Mobile & Online Office Document Editing
As an approved Microsoft Cloud Storage Provider, only MyWorkDrive has the ability to edit documents stored on file shares in a browser or using native Office Apps using Microsoft’s Office Online Servers.
No Databases
Unlike Acronis Files Advanced alternative, MyWorkDrive exclusively uses existing active directory users, group and NTFS permissions to provision users. No files are stored in any databases, nor are any additional administration of users, database backup software licenses, or management needed when integrating MyWorkDrive.
Seamless Integration
With our native integration shares and setup is a breeze. Since the MyWorkDrive is a member of the domain simply login with an administrator account to manage and setup shares – No LDAP or databases to that store user information needed.
Security
MyWorkDrive exclusively uses built-in Windows NTFS and Access Based enumeration security for Windows shares that run under the user’s login context. As such, no login information or access to files are ever stored in a database or used by MyWorkDrive. Acronis can also connect to Windows File shares, however it does not support sharing functions and requires file be moved to it’s database to share or sync them. MyWorkDrive seamlessly integrates with any SAML provider including Azure AD (Office 365) and allows two factor authentication using DUO and is certified in FIPS 140-2 Encryption while allowing files to remain in place on company file shares.
IIS vs LAMP Stack
MyWorkDrive uses native IIS and .Net for all server communications. With Acronis, the application runs within the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP). In addition to being difficult to manage and unfamiliar to Windows System Administrators, the LAMP stack is complicated to patch and secure with standard Windows tools.
Reduced Administration
Acronis imports Active Directory users and groups into a database and requires manual management of users. With MyWorkDrive, Active Directory is native and licenses are automatically provisioned and deprovisioned as users drop off after 30 days.
